Gellert Hotel (exterior)

Women's Spa Complex

There must be at least a half a dozen different spas and hotels that offer soaking, swimming, special treatments and massage. I settled on the Gellert Hotel ones. While they were pricey by Hungarian standards (about $20), I figured that indulging myself would be a good thing…and it was! After the swipe of my credit card, I was handed a plastic bracelet with coding. Once it was scanned, I entered the women’s dressing area. I was escorted to a private dressing room and told to change out of my clothes and try out the women’s spa area. It was clothing optional, but most of the women wore swim suits. There was a 36 degree c. pool (nice warm), 38 degree c. pool (quite warm), a cold plunge (18 degrees c.), a sauna and a steam room. I mixed cold and hot and generated a wonderful inner vibration. After awhile I made my way to the no-longer clothing optional mixed-gender swim area. There was an indoor sparkling pool and an aqua-aerobics class was being offered. Adjacent was a warm pool with several massage jets. Then upstairs had an amazing a garden pool with pretty sculptures, chaise lounges and another warm soaking pool with jets. Altogether a sweet way to while away several hours in a beautiful setting…
